Our Code of Conduct is the foundation of a respectful and collaborative environment at The Inn Between. It ensures that every player feels welcome, supported, and able to enjoy the game without fear of discrimination, harassment, or exclusion. Alongside these principles, we also provide practical safety tools to address concerns in real time and uphold fairness through our Safety Council. Players who would like to learn more about these procedures, including the X-Card system, campaign trigger warnings, the Safety Council, and our ongoing training commitments, can find full details on the Player Safety & Wellbeing page linked below.
Player
1. Respect and Inclusion
We celebrate diversity. Discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behaviour based on age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, faith, or any other identity has no place here. Everyone deserves to feel seen and valued.
2. Creating a Safe Atmosphere
This is a space for joy, creativity, and connection. Please avoid language or themes that could make others uncomfortable, including excessive vulgarity or overtly sexual content, unless clearly agreed upon by the group in advance.
3. Fair and Collaborative Play
All participants are expected to respect one another and the guidance of the Game Master. Rules discussions are welcome, but ongoing disputes should not disrupt the game.
4. Listening and Sharing Space
Give others time to speak, contribute, and participate. Active listening and thoughtful communication help ensure that everyone has a chance to be part of the story.
5. Social Media Boundaries
Be kind online as well as in person. Using social platforms to shame, exclude, or intimidate others from this community is never acceptable.
6. Cancellations and Attendance
If you need to cancel a session, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours of a session are still chargeable, as the preparation time and resources have already been committed.
Frequent last-minute cancellations can create a significant loss of income, so we have to be strict with this policy to ensure The Inn Between can continue running and offering games for everyone. We really appreciate your understanding and support in keeping our community sustainable.
7. Phone Use at the Table
Phones are a part of modern life, but at the table, we ask that you keep distractions to a minimum. Please step away if you need to take a call or use your phone extensively.
8. Community Trust
Respect for personal belongings is expected from everyone. We ask that all players treat our space and each other’s property with care.
9. Zero Tolerance for Aggression
Violent, threatening, or intentionally harmful behaviour, verbal or physical, will result in immediate removal from the session and venue.
10. Raising Concerns
If something feels off, please speak up. You can approach your Game Master in confidence if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. We’re here to support you.
11. When Things Don’t Work Out
While we aim to welcome everyone, we may ask a player to step away if their behaviour consistently disrupts the safety or enjoyment of others. In such cases, our priority will always be the wellbeing of the group as a whole.
12. Entry Requirements
A valid ticket is required for participation in all events. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions on the day without proof of purchase.
